Manganese steel or aluminium? Manganese steel takes repeated rock strikes and deforms rather than cracking — the right choice for rock crawling and heavy trail use. 7075 aluminium gives you most of the protection at roughly half the weight, which matters on a platform already carrying a heavy bumper up front. Steel if you hit things often; aluminium if you cover distance.

Where to start: the oil pan is the lowest point under the engine and a single rock can end a trip, so the engine plate is the first piece almost everyone buys. The fuel tank plate is next — a punctured tank is dangerous as well as expensive. Complete kits cover all five areas and work out cheaper than buying plates individually.

All plates bolt to factory mounting points, no drilling. Duties and delivery included.
