Cayenne, Touareg & Q7 Fitment Chart: What Fits 955, 957, 958, 7L, 7P and 4L - Overlandtrek

If you own a Porsche Cayenne, VW Touareg, or Audi Q7, you have a question. This applies to cars from the last two decades. You've asked: will this part fit my car? This Cayenne fitment chart answers those questions. You've probably found answers deep in old forum threads. They are often contradicted twice in replies.

This page attempts to end that. Below is every part we manufacture. Each is mapped against every chassis code we support. A plain yes or no is provided. We build these parts ourselves. This is our own fitment data. It's not a copied supplier's catalogue.

Bookmark it, or link it in a thread when someone asks. We keep it current as we add products.

First: know your chassis code

Model years overlap and marketing names get reused. The chassis code is the thing that actually determines fit.

Vehicle Code Years
Porsche Cayenne, first generation 955 2002–2007
Porsche Cayenne, first-gen facelift 957 2008–2010
Porsche Cayenne, second generation 958 2011–2017
VW Touareg, first generation 7L 2002–2010
VW Touareg, second generation 7P 2011–2017
Audi Q7, first generation 4L 2006–2015
Lexus GX550 J250 2024+
INEOS Grenadier 2023+

The 955, 957, 7L, and 4L share the PL71 platform. That shared architecture means some parts cross between Cayenne and Touareg. It also means many others don't. Sharing a platform is not the same as sharing a mounting point.

The short answer most people are looking for in a Cayenne fitment chart

Three questions come up more than all the others combined:

  • Will a 955 or 957 bumper fit a 958? No. Bumpers are the most body-specific parts we make. The 958 is a different body with different mounting geometry, and there is no adapter that changes that.
  • Will a Cayenne part fit a Touareg? Sometimes. Underbody parts often cross because the chassis hardpoints are shared. Anything that touches bodywork — bumpers, in particular — generally does not.
  • Does anything fit the 958? Yes, more than most people expect: engine and transfer case skid plates, rock sliders, the aluminum roof rack, and the lift kit. See the table below.

Bumpers

Body-specific. Every front bumper we build includes a 6 mm manganese steel winch plate rated to 12,000 lb as standard.

Part Fits
Front bumper · bull bar · rear · dual swingout rear Cayenne 955 only (2002–2007)
High-clearance front · bull bar · rear · dual swingout rear (V1 & V2) Cayenne 957 only (2008–2010)
Gen 1 front bumper · bull bar · dual swingout rear Touareg 7L only (2002–2010)
Steel front bumper with winch mount Touareg 7P only (2011–2017)
Front · high-clearance front · dual swingout rear Lexus GX550 only (2024+)
Front · full-width bull bar · bull bar with underbody protection INEOS Grenadier only (2023+)

There is no cross-fitment in this category at all. A bumper for a 957 will not fit a 955. And vice versa. The facelift changed the front end.

Underbody protection

This is where the platform sharing pays off, and where the 958 does better than people expect.

Part Fits
Engine skid plate (manganese steel or 7075 aluminum) Cayenne 955 / 957 / 958 & Touareg (2002–2017)
Engine & transfer case skid plate (steel or aluminum) Cayenne 955 / 957 / 958 & Touareg (2002–2017)
Gas tank skid plate Cayenne 955 / 957 & Touareg (2002–2010) — not 958
Rear differential skid plate (steel or aluminum) Cayenne 955 / 957 & Touareg (2002–2010) — not 958
Complete skid plate kits (5-piece, steel or aluminum) Cayenne 955 / 957 (2002–2010) · Touareg 7L (2002–2010)

Note the split. Engine and transfer case plates run to 2017. They cover the 958. However, fuel tank and rear differential plates stop at 2010. The rear of the car changed. The middle did not.

Rock sliders

Part Fits
Cayenne rock sliders (steel, 22 kg pair) Cayenne 955 / 957 / 958 (2002–2017)
Touareg rock sliders (steel, 22 kg pair) Touareg 7L and 7P (2002–2017)
Aluminum skid plates & rock sliders (combined) Cayenne 955 / 957 & Touareg (2002–2010)
GX550 rock sliders Lexus GX550 only (2024+)

Both the Cayenne and Touareg sliders span all generations of their platform — including the 958 and the 7P. Rockers are one of the few areas these cars did not change.

Roof racks

All our racks are rated to 200 kg static and mount to factory roof rail points. Your vehicle must have factory rails fitted.

Part Fits
Modular roof rack (steel, 33 kg) Cayenne 955 / 957 (2002–2010)
Modular roof rack (steel, 33 kg) Touareg 7L (2002–2010)
Aluminum alloy roof rack (7075, 28 kg) Touareg 7P & Cayenne 958 (2011–2017)

The 200 kg figure is a static rating. This is what the rack holds when parked. This number matters for a roof-top tent with people. Your car's dynamic roof limit is set by the manufacturer. It is usually much lower. Check your owner's manual. Work to whichever number is smaller.

Lift kits and geometry correction

Lifting one of these cars is not just spacers. Past about 50 mm, suspension geometry needs correction. Otherwise, you get clunks, fault codes, and premature CV wear.

Part Fits
2-inch lift kit (air suspension retained) Cayenne 955 / 957 (2002–2010)
2-inch lift kit (air suspension retained) Touareg 7L (2002–2010)
2-inch steel spring lift kit (air suspension delete) Cayenne 955 / 957 & Touareg (2002–2010)
3-inch lift kit complete set Cayenne 955 / 957 & Touareg (2002–2010)
Lift kit – suspension system Cayenne 958 & Touareg 7P (2011–2018)
Tubular upper control arms Cayenne · Touareg · Audi Q7
Adjustable front sway bar end links Cayenne · Touareg · Audi Q7
Adjustable level sensor links (air suspension) Cayenne · Touareg · Audi Q7
Subframe drop kit, 2–3 inch Cayenne · Touareg · Audi Q7

The four geometry-correction parts at the bottom are the widest-fitting things we make — they cover all three PL71 marques. If you are lifting a Q7 4L, that group is currently what we offer for your car. For the full explanation of why each one matters, see our guide to PL71 lift geometry correction.

Accessories

Part Fits
A-pillar light mount brackets (pair) Cayenne 955 / 957 & Touareg (2002–2010)
Side window table · tailgate table INEOS Grenadier (2023+)
Side door guards (4-piece set) INEOS Grenadier (2023+)
Headlight protection covers (pair) INEOS Grenadier (2023+)

How we know

We are not a distributor. Every listed part is cut, formed, welded, and e-coated. This happens in our factory in Changzhou. We built for China's domestic market for four years. Then we shipped elsewhere. The fitment data here comes from our own jigs. It's not from a catalogue we resell.

We can be specific about what doesn't fit. Most suppliers leave this vague. If a part isn't listed, we don't make it for your car. We'd rather tell you that. We won't sell you something you'll return across an ocean.

Frequently asked questions

Will a Cayenne 955 or 957 bumper fit my 958?

No. Bumpers are body-specific. The 958 is a different body. Nothing from our 955 or 957 bumper range transfers. For the 958, we offer skid plates for the engine and transfer case. We also have rock sliders, an aluminum roof rack, and a lift kit.

Will Cayenne parts fit a VW Touareg?

Some will. The 955, 957, and Touareg 7L share the PL71 platform. So, several underbody and suspension parts cross over. The tables above show exactly which. Bumpers and rock sliders are marque-specific. They mount to bodywork.

What do you make for the Audi Q7 4L?

Currently, the geometry-correction group includes tubular upper control arms. Also, adjustable front sway bar end links and level sensor links. The subframe drop kit is included. We don't yet build Q7-specific bumpers or skid plates.

Do the rock sliders really fit both generations?

Yes. The Cayenne sliders cover 955, 957 and 958; the Touareg sliders cover both the 7L and the 7P. The rocker mounting points did not change between generations on either car.

What does a 200 kg roof rack rating actually mean?

It's a static rating — the load the rack carries when parked. That's the relevant figure for a roof-top tent with occupants. While driving, your vehicle's own dynamic roof limit applies and is typically much lower. Always work to whichever number is smaller.

My car isn't listed. Can you build for it?

Email info@overlandtrek.com and tell us the chassis code. We manufacture in-house. New platforms are a tooling decision, not supplier negotiation. We take requests seriously. This is especially true when we hear the same one repeatedly.

How do I confirm before I order?

Send us your VIN at info@overlandtrek.com. We'll confirm the chassis code and tell you what fits before you spend anything. Given these parts ship internationally, it's worth the five minutes.
