Off-Road Rear Bumper for the VW Touareg Gen 1 (2002–2010)

A dual swingout rear bumper for the first-generation Volkswagen Touareg, carrying a full-size spare wheel and a 3-gallon jerry can — both mounts included — on two independently locking arms.

The bumper is rated to 200 kg static, with 50 kg per swing arm, which is enough for a full-size spare and tyre on one side and recovery gear or fuel on the other. It's built in-house from high-carbon manganese steel: 50 mm tube, 3 mm wall, 5 mm plate, finished with textured e-coating inside and out.

Two things Touareg owners usually ask about. The factory exhaust stays exactly where it is — only the clip-on lower trim comes off, so the muffler, tips, and emissions components are untouched. And the tailgate still works normally: swing an arm open like a door, then open the tailgate. The arms are fully removable in minutes if you'd rather not carry them daily.

The hitch mounting point is raised for a better departure angle, and reinforced recovery points are built in for trail recovery and winching. Bolt-on to factory points, no cutting or welding, fully reversible.
