VW Touareg Dual Swingout Rear Bumper (2002–2010)
Heavy-duty dual swingout rear bumper for the VW Touareg Gen 1 and Gen 1.5 Facelift, with spare tire carrier and jerry can mount. Bolt-on installation with the factory exhaust fully retained.
Each generation has its own bumper — choose your car from the Select your vehicle dropdown above. VW facelifted the Touareg for the 2008 model year and the rear mounting points changed with it, so the bumper is built for the car you pick. Gen 1 covers 2002–2007; Gen 1.5 Facelift covers 2008–2010.

Which option should I select?
Gen 1 is the 2002–2007 pre-facelift 7L Touareg. Gen 1.5 Facelift is the 2008–2010 car. If you are unsure which yours is, email your VIN to info@overlandtrek.com and we will identify it for you before you order.
What are the load ratings?
The bumper supports up to 200 kg (441 lb) static load — the weight the bumper itself carries. Each swing arm is independently rated for 50 kg (110 lb), enough for a full-size spare wheel and tyre on one arm, with jerry cans or recovery gear on the other. These are static figures, not towing ratings.
Does this require removing the factory exhaust or muffler?
No. Only the lower clip-on factory bumper trim is removed. The muffler, exhaust tips, and all emissions components stay in place.
Can I still open my tailgate normally?
Yes. Swing one or both arms open like a door, then open the tailgate as usual.
Can the swing arms be removed for daily driving?
Yes. The arms are fully removable and reinstall in minutes.
