The rocker panel is the most commonly damaged area on a lifted SUV. Once you've raised the vehicle for clearance, the sills sit directly in the strike zone on any off-camber section or rutted trail — and on a unibody platform like the PL71 that damage is structural, not cosmetic.

These sliders mount to the factory pinch weld reinforcement points and take the hit instead. Both options double as a step, which matters more than people expect once the vehicle is two or three inches higher than stock.

Which one: the manganese steel sliders are the heavier-duty choice for rock work. The aluminium set pairs slider protection with side skid plates and a non-slip step surface at lower weight.
