How much lift do you need? Two inches is the practical sweet spot: it clears larger all-terrain tyres, keeps the factory ride quality intact, and needs no geometry correction parts. Three inches is the maximum-clearance option for serious trail work, but it pushes suspension geometry further out of spec and needs correction parts to match.

Air or steel spring? If your vehicle has factory air suspension, the spacer-based kits keep it. The 2-inch steel spring kit is the air-delete route — the right call when the air system is failing and you want to be done with it — and it already includes its subframe drop kit.

Read this before you buy. Lifting a PL71 changes suspension and driveline angles. At 3 inches of lift you will need tubular upper control arms and a subframe drop kit, plus adjustable sway bar end links on air suspension, to keep geometry in spec — none of these are required at 2 inches. Lifted air suspension should also run adjustable level sensor links, or the car will read the new ride height as a fault and throw warnings.
