Heavy-duty modular roof rack for the VW Touareg Gen 1 and Gen 1.5 Facelift, rated to 200 kg. Bolt-on installation using factory roof rail mounting points — no cutting or drilling.
Each generation has its own rack — choose your car from the Select your vehicle dropdown above. VW facelifted the Touareg for the 2008 model year, so the mounting hardware is matched to the car you pick. Gen 1 covers 2002–2007; Gen 1.5 Facelift covers 2008–2010.

Factory roof rails must be fitted to the vehicle. This rack does not fit the Touareg Gen 2 (7P, 2011–2018).

Which option should I select?
Gen 1 is the 2002–2007 pre-facelift 7L Touareg. Gen 1.5 Facelift is the 2008–2010 car. If you are unsure which yours is, email your VIN to info@overlandtrek.com and we will identify it for you before you order.
What size is the rack?
The platform measures 200 × 120.5 × 16.5 cm (78.7 × 47.4 × 6.5 in), length × width × height. Height is the rack itself and does not include the factory roof rails it sits on.
What is the load capacity?
The rack is rated at 200 kg static load. Always check your vehicle's factory roof load rating in the owner's manual and do not exceed the lower of the two limits.
How much does the rack weigh?
33 kg (73 lb). Two people are recommended for lifting it onto the roof during installation.
Do I need factory roof rails installed?
Yes — the rack mounts to the factory roof rail points. If your vehicle does not have factory rails fitted, email info@overlandtrek.com to discuss options.
Will this fit my Touareg Gen 2?
No — this rack is for the Gen 1 and Gen 1.5 Facelift Touareg (2002–2010). For the Gen 2 (2011–2018), see our aluminum alloy roof rack.
